Membership Operations and Engagement – Junior Associate

developing, connecting, advancing, and championing women working and leading in sports. Women 
Leaders currently serves nearly 6,000 members representing 600+ institutions, sports teams, and sports 
businesses nationwide.

Women Leaders is currently seeking applicants for a dynamic Membership Operations and 
Engagement – Junior Associate to join its energetic and collaborative team in Kansas City, Missouri. 
This is a full-time, 12-month, paid position, beginning immediately with an annual salary of $30,000 and 
access to a 401(k) plan with employer matching. If you want to grow as a leader, develop your

Internship duties will include, but are not limited to:
Assisting in all aspects of membership services and operations, including individual and group
membership retention, recruitment, and overall member engagement. 

General Responsibilities:

  • Support membership services, including retention of current members, recruitment efforts, and 
    tracking of monthly revenue goals.
  • Assist with member engagement and/or sales efforts in all areas to meet annual revenue goals. 
    This includes:
    • Membership Services
    • Leadership programming and experiences (in-person and virtual)
    • National Convention
    • Job Board Postings
    • Awards and scholarships
    • Consulting services
  • Assist with tracking overall member engagement metrics across all offerings.
  • Website and association management system support.
  • Front-facing personnel and communication to all members.
  • Track the advancement of women working in sport.
  • Assist with management of the Membership Engagement Committee, Awards Committee and
    Roundtable Collective programming.
  • Day-to-day administrative tasks and other duties, as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • A passion for women’s leadership and career advancement.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment (and we mean FAST!)
  • Highly coachable and hungry for feedback to get better and excel in the role.
  • An optimist who sees challenges as opportunities and believes everything is “figure-out-able”.
  • Strong computer skills required in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.) and Zoom 
    platforms
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Strong initiative and ability to problem solve.
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills with proven attention to detail.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Willingness to learn systems and databases.
  • Demonstrated passion and ability to foster relationships with a diverse group of people
  • An ability to flex and pivot across several projects that require different ways of thinking and 
    working

Junior Associate Period: One year from the start date
