About the Role:

The Head Women’s Volleyball Coach will report directly to the Director of Athletics and will be tasked with leading the Women's Volleyball program at Westminster University, which competes in NCAA Division II within the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. This position encompasses responsibilities for recruiting and mentoring student-athletes, supervising assistant coaches, and managing budgets, schedules, travel, practices, and equipment. The coach must ensure compliance with NCAA and institutional regulations while also supporting fundraising initiatives, community outreach efforts, and the academic and personal growth of student-athletes. The role requires a steadfast commitment to upholding the University’s values of diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Minimum Qualifications:

- A Bachelor's degree is required; a Master's degree is preferred.

- A demonstrated record of success in coaching volleyball and recruiting student-athletes at the collegiate level is preferred.

- Ability to work independently and display effective motivational skills.

- Strong leadership and organizational capabilities.

- Excellent communication skills, both interpersonal and public relations-oriented.

- Capacity to foster a positive learning atmosphere.

- Ability to thrive in a team-oriented environment while maintaining high standards and goals.

- A commitment to maintaining high academic and professional standards.

Position Requirements:

- Periodic overnight travel may be required.

- Regular travel throughout the year, as well as during specific times, is expected.

- Extended work hours, including evenings and weekends, will be necessary.

- Responsiveness to on-call situations, including evenings and weekends, is required.

- A valid driver’s license and a successful DMV check are mandatory.

- Physical capability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch is required.

- Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds is essential.

- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds is required.

Key Responsibilities:

- Recruit and retain qualified student-athletes.

- Supervise and hire assistants as necessary.

- Manage budgeting, scheduling, and travel arrangements.

- Organize and supervise practices effectively.

- Assist in event management.

- Order and maintain all required equipment.

- Ensure compliance with institutional, conference, and national governing regulations.

- Provide assistance with fundraising and outreach efforts for the program.

- Mentor student-athletes and prioritize their welfare.

- Collaborate closely with other staff to promote intercollegiate athletics as a vital component of the University’s learning environment and to support the academic success of student-athletes.

- Execute all responsibilities with the utmost ethical standards, consistent with the University’s mission, vision, and values, which include a firm commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

- Undertake additional duties as assigned.
