The Culture & Engagement Coordinator will play a key role in the success and advancement of initiatives supporting the experience of student-athletes, coaches, staff, campus and industry colleagues, the local community and alumni with Notre Dame Athletics. As a member of the Athletic Director’s Office, the ideal candidate will bring an ability to maintain various responsibilities at a high-level, executing assigned responsibilities in an excellence-driven manner with a service-oriented spirit. Reporting to the Executive Associate Athletics Director, this role will provide an opportunity to gain experience with several areas of Athletics Administration including, but not limited to: organizational culture, internal communications, diversity, equity, and inclusion, operational effectiveness, campus relations & public affairs, community and corporate partnerships, fan experience and engagement, and revenue generation. Duties to include but not limited to the research, recommendation and implementation of special projects in Athletics units, Culture Curators, and Together Irish initiatives; leading appointed student-athlete/staff and community service programming initiatives from start to finish; establishing, maintaining and partnering with key relationships with campus, community and industry partners. This limited term appointment will be for 12 months, renewable up to a total tenure of 24 months.

Responsibilities:

  • Advance student-athlete and staff civic engagement and community service programming in partnership with campus and community collaborators; develop and lead activations for community commitment & civic engagement opportunities with corporate partners

  • Research and provide recommendations and support in the development, planning, scheduling, advertisement and execution of Culture & Engagement programming, including facilitation of Athletics Culture Curators & Together Irish initiatives, and special projects for the Athletic Director’s Office

  • Partner with a wide variety of constituents across campus and within Athletics to create and implement strategies, policies, programs and training that supports a diverse, equitable and inclusive environment across the department for student-athletes and staff

  • Coordinate and execute select team programming initiatives for student-athletes, coaches and staff under the direction of the Executive Associate Athletics Director and department leadership

  • Lead internal communication efforts including the production and dissemination of departmental newsletter and other key communications in partnership with the Executive Associate Athletics Director and other key partners in Athletics

  • Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with campus, community, and industry colleagues to advance ND Athletics’ and University priorities

  • Assist with management and implementation of departmental process improvements, including donation and memorabilia process administration

This is a limited term position for 2 years.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university

  • 3 to 4 years experience

  • Must have relationship building skills while working with diverse groups

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience as a member or ally supporting underrepresented groups is preferred.

  • Have experience as a Division I student-athlete and/or Professional or Olympic athlete
