Compliance with the NCAA, CAA, and University rules and regulations is one of the primary responsibilities of the Department of Athletics, The Associate Athletic Director for Compliance provides direct oversight of the compliance program. This position will also act as a sport administrator and is responsible for providing leadership, guidance, and direction for assigned teams under the direction of the Deputy Athletic Director and COO.
Responsibilities Include:
Incorporate policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all NCAA, CAA, and university regulations.
Ensure compliance with intercollegiate athletics program reporting requirements and filings of all NCAA certification forms.
Coordinate investigations.
Educate student-athletes on adhering and abiding by the guidelines to remain academically and athletically eligible.
Develop and maintain strong internal and external working relations by educating, monitoring, and reviewing compliance efforts in order to ensure that UNCW meets the operating principles of NCAA membership.
Serve as a sports administrator, responsible for providing leadership, guidance, and direction for assigned teams under the direction of the Deputy Athletic Director and COO.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Master’s degree in a discipline related to the area of assignment with 3 years of related experience or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills & Experience
6 to 8 years of related experience.
In-depth knowledge of NCAA regulations with practical, hands-on experience with applying Division I regulations.
Ability to think critically to interpret rules to fit various real-world situations
Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
