Head Coach - Women's Volleyball

Seeking a driven Head Women’s Volleyball Coach to lead a growing program during an exciting period of transformation. Reporting to the Director of Athletics, the Head Coach will recruit, develop, and mentor student-athletes while overseeing all aspects of program operations with excellence and integrity.

Overview of Duties:

1. Implement a student-athlete recruiting program that is consistent with institutional values, conference, and NCAA rules.

2. Responsible for recommending to the Director of Athletics the awarding of athletic grant-in-aid in accordance with institutional, conference, and NCAA rules.

3. Along with Sports Performance Staff, develop and manage agility, mobility, strength and conditioning programs.

4. Responsible for recommending to the Director of Athletics a schedule that meets the institutional philosophy and that will be approved by the Faculty Athletics Representative or her/his designee.

5. Responsible for travel arrangements and lodging for the teams, in conjunction with the Director of Athletics.

6. Responsible for ensuring that academic scheduling is done through on-campus advisors and Athletics Academic Support Director to meet the academic needs of the student–athletes and that the student-athlete scheduling meets eligibility and progress toward degree requirements.

7. Responsible for directing the assistant coach(es); including recommending to the Director of Athletics the hiring and performance evaluations of assistant coaches.

8. Responsible for presenting a budget and working within the framework of that budget as approved by the Director of Athletics. Major areas of budgetary control include equipment purchases, travel, recruiting, consultation, and guarantees.

9. Responsible to assist in the promotion of their program and the athletic department.

10. The Head Coach is expected to follow and comply with all rules and regulations of the department and the institution.

11. The Head Coach will be given first opportunity to administer youth sport camps and clinics. Acceptance of such includes the organization and implementation of such events.

12. Promote a program environment of belonging.

13. Any activity in areas outside of the above named will require consultation and approval by the Director of Athletics. Examples include community engagement, fund raising or capital campaign projects.

14. Perform other related duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics to promote, advance and ensure the effective and efficient operation of LSSU.

Minumum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree

Valid Driver’s License

Two or more years of experience as a head coach or two or more years experience as an assistant coach at the collegiate or club level

Thorough knowledge of institutional, NCAA and Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference rules, policies and regulations.
