Assistant Athletic Director

Supports and contributes to the implementation of strategic initiatives within the department including proposing, implementing and assessing short and long-term department goals

 

Supports the daily administration of the athletics department operations including, but not limited to, fundraising activities, admissions and student athlete academic success

 

Assists in maintaining compliance with university policies and procedures, as well as with national association and conference rules and regulations

 

Serves as the primary liaison for athletics for matters related to gender equity, diversity, inclusion, student-athlete well-being and student leadership

 

Collaborates with other university departments on matters that impact the student-athlete experience including developing programs and opportunities that promote the student athlete experience and support student athlete wellness

 

Administers student athletes' coach evaluations, coordinates and tracks department staff training, onboarding, development, awards and recognition programs and cultivates data trends and themes to assist in enacting departmental enhancements

 

Collaborates with other members of the department to encourage student-athlete involvement in community service and endeavors that support the department and university goals, mission and strategic plan

 

Serves on the President’s Athletic Advisory Board to assist in the implementation of athletic and academic integration programs and policies

Research best practices in the industry and makes recommendations on new athletic programs, facilities, initiatives as well as operational and strategic goals

Assists with submitting, reviewing and validating data submissions and reports including review of Equity in Athletics Disclosure Act(EADA) reporting, NCAA Financial and Graduation Rates and others, as necessary

 

Represents the university at conference and NCAA events

 

Assists with game management and travel to postseason contests, as necessary

 

Assists with departmental budget


Supervises and develops the department staff, facilitating professional opportunities to improve individual capability and managing performance against job accountabilities, department goals and established university, campus and department policies and procedures

 

Performs other duties as assigned

Bachelor's Degree

Business, sports management or related field

Moderate amount of experience

Athletics or related experience

Valid U.S. driver’s license

 

First Aid, CPR, AED certification, or willingness to attain such certification(s) upon hire
