Schedule: Flexible schedule. Must be able to work early morning and late evening hours and weekends.

 

Duration: Appointment starting May 27, 2025, and ending May 22, 2026. 

 

Compensation: A $18 per hour stipend. 40 hours per week. Benefits Eligible Position.

 

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

 

  • Professional Development: Engage in regular professional development opportunities, including training sessions, workshops, and special assignments, to build skills essential for a career in student-athlete academic support.

 

  • NCAA Eligibility & Compliance: Gain a successful understanding of NCAA rules and regulations regarding academic eligibility requirements.

 

  • Academic Support and Advising: Provide personalized academic advising to a caseload of student-athletes. Assist with course selection and academic planning to ensure timely progress toward graduation. Track student-athlete academic performance through meetings and monitoring Canvas observer role.

 

  • Communication: Build and sustain professional, respectful relationships with students, staff, and university stakeholders. Communicate effectively with the use of professional language, ensuring confidentiality and upholding ethical standards.

 

  • Collaboration: Provide support for a multitude of other projects and responsibilities that are housed within SAAS. Examples include textbooks, Bridge Orientation, Guest Coaches program, and graduation brunch.

Minimum Qualifications: A master’s degree or a bachelor’s degree and relevant experience working in a collegiate athletic academic advising office and a desire to enter the professional field of athletic academic services.

 

Preferred Qualifications: A master’s degree and a previous Graduate Assistantship or Internship in a student-athlete support center.
