Summary
This is a full-time position assisting the Director of Cross Country and Track & Field in all phases of the specified sportprogram including, but not limited to, recruiting qualified student-athletes, coaching, travel arrangements, supervision of academic progress, alumni development, fundraising, home meet management and any other duties as assigned in compliance with University, Conference, and NCAA rules.
Essential Functions
Assist in coaching the sport; utilize coaching and teaching methods to develop student athletes’ skills and teamwork.
Assist and communicate with the head coach to plan, develop and promote a highly competitive NCAA Division I program.
Assist and communicate with the Director of Cross Country & Track/Field to plan and stay within the yearly budget, documenting all expenditures as required.
Successfully identity, select and recruit and coach prospective student-athletes who display the athletic and academic talents and ability to successfully compete in the MAC and BGSU.
Display knowledge and adhere to all rules and regulations, pertaining to the sport as established by the NCAA, MAC, and the University.
Complete and report in a timely fashion, all Department, University, and Conference administrative information, as well as academic, recruiting and financial information.
Assist in the development and implementation of fundraising activities.
Assist with the planning and execution of camps and clinics.
Attend required department meetings.

Minimum Qualifications
The following Degree is required:
Bachelor's Degree. Degree must be conferred at time of application
One of the following years of Experience is required:
4 years of Competing in Division I Track and/or Cross Country.
2 years track and/or cross country coaching experience at the Division I, II, III, NAIA, Junior College, High School or Club level.
2 years of graduate coaching experience equals 1 year of coaching experience.
The following Licensure, Certifications, or Registration is required:
Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and comply with the university’s vehicle use policy.
