Position Overview: Arizona Athletic Grounds has a unique opportunity to be the leader of sales in a VP of Sales role for the largest and newest sports and entertainment complex in North America. AAG is looking for someone with a passion for all things sports and entertainment related, but more importantly a proven track record in sales. AAG is under new ownership, and they fully understand this role will be critical to their immediate and future success, so they are looking for the absolute best of the best! You must be an out of the box thinker that finds ways to get things done!
Responsibilities:
• Drive sales of sponsorships for both large and small partners.
• Reignite sponsors/partners that were involved with previous ownership.
• Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve revenue targets for Arizona Athletic Grounds.
• Give prospects tours of the facility and design a strategic plan to close them before leaving the property.
• Eventually lead, manage, and motivate a sales team, providing guidance, coaching, and mentorship to ensure performance excellence.
• Drive revenue growth by identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, partnerships, and revenue streams to enhance the sports complex's financial growth.
• Eventually collaborate with marketing teams to create effective sales campaigns, promotions, and branding strategies but be willing to wear all these hats until the marketing team is more robust.
• Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities. Use market insights to make informed decisions and adjust sales strategies accordingly.
• Drive leads provided by ownership and others to successful completion.
• Provide consistent status updates to ownership on status of pipeline of all leads/prospect and closed deals.
• Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key customers, partners, and stakeholders. Ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty by delivering exceptional experiences and service.
• Utilize data-driven insights to evaluate and optimize sales performance, making data-driven decisions to maximize results.
• Oversee the development and negotiation of contracts, ensuring favorable terms for the sports complex.
• Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and innovations to position Arizona Athletic Grounds as a leader in the sports and entertainment sector.
• Drive revenue growth by identifying new business opportunities, expanding existing customer relationships, and maximizing sales performance across different channels. By representing the organization at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities.
Qualifications:
• Proven experience in a senior sales leadership role, preferably in the sports and entertainment industry. Strong relationships with potential sponsors in the AZ market is a big plus
• Strong track record of exceeding sales targets and driving revenue growth with a ‘no quit’ attitude
• Exceptional leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal abilities.
• Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute effective sales strategies.
• Knowledge of the North American sports and entertainment market.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (MBA is a plus).
