The University Athletic Association at the University of Florida is searching for an Assistant Director to support remote field productions and works with the video engineer staff to provide live video and audio to ESPN, the SEC Network, livestreams, marketing activities, and archive functions. Collaborates with UF’s College of Journalism’s Division of Media Properties and Technology Advancement Group.
This position requires the incumbent to have strong interpersonal and communication skills; be organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated; work independently and as part of a collaborative team; multitask effectively; troubleshoot issues in fast-paced, live-event environments; engage effectively with others of diverse cultures or backgrounds, including high-energy intense personalities; and work a non-standard work week which will include evenings, weekends, and holidays.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Television Engineering, IT, Computer Science or related tech field*
Two years of related work experience with technical TV production equipment (including switchers, cameras, audio boards, intercoms, fiber, and a variety of transmission technologies)*
Knowledgeable of design and operation of router-based distribution systems
Knowledgeable of and experience with SMPTE 2110 architecture and systems
Knowledgeable of Dante audio systems design and implementation
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s Degree in Television Engineering, IT, Computer Science or related tech field
Five years of remote sports production experience
Experience with remote broadcasting operations and event setup
Knowledgeable of fiber-based video, audio signal flow, and IP fundamental
Experience in an intercollegiate athletic environment
Working knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations
*An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted in lieu of listed requirement.
