Juniata College, a nationally ranked liberal arts institution nestled in the mountains of central Pennsylvania, invites applications for a full-time Athletic Trainer to join our dedicated Sports Medicine team. This is an exciting opportunity for a certified professional committed to student-athlete health, performance, and well-being in a dynamic NCAA Division III environment.

About the Role

Reporting to the Director of Sports Medicine, the Athletic Trainer provides comprehensive care for varsity student-athletes—including injury prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation—while supporting the overall mission of the Athletics Department. This position includes coverage for practices and competitions (home and select away), as well as administrative support for medical records, inventory, and insurance coordination.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver medical coverage and emergency response for practices and competitions.

  • Evaluate, treat, and rehabilitate injuries; coordinate referrals when necessary.

  • Maintain thorough documentation of athlete care and communication.

  • Collaborate with coaches, physicians, and administrators to ensure athlete well-being.

  • Manage inventory and assist with ordering medical supplies and equipment.

  • Participate in departmental meetings and campus initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required in Athletic Training, Kinesiology, or related field.

  • Master’s degree preferred.

  • NATA BOC Certification and eligibility for Pennsylvania licensure required.

  • Emergency Cardiac Care and CPR/AED/First Aid certifications required.

  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, student-centered approach.
